Namibia is a photographer’s dream destination with both desolate and beautiful vast panoramas of desert sand dunes, wildlife and geological wonders.   Sheer size, solitude along with the never-ending struggle for life in one of the oldest and most inhospitable environments are incredibly inspiring with the Himba tribe in the north and the Owambo’s to the east, the seal colonies along the coast and desert adapted flora and fauna throughout.

In a vast and unpopulated country a 4x4 self-drive is a great experience if you have time on your hands and and are keen to explore the countries nooks and crannies. Should time be an issue a fly-in safari with knowledgable guides, providing fantastic aerial views and easy and quicker access to the more interesting camps and location, would be a better option.

Namibia has a host of spectacular regions with the ancient Namib desert with the red dunes of Sossusvlei – the largest in the world in the south. The Skeleton Coast to the west and its whistling dunes, seal colonies and incredible and ever-changing coastline. Damaraland offers something different again here with ancient rock carvings and paintings. This is also where you would find the endangered black rhino and the desert elephant. Etosha to the North is home to the Etosha Pans – huge salt pans that are fed annually by the flooding of the Kunene River

Namibia has a dry climate typical of a semi desert country where droughts are a regular occurrence. Days are mostly warm to very hot and nights are generally cool. Sporadic rain falls in summer from November to March and travelling at this time can be incredibly hot.
